founder of Achilleas Glass Art & Design (b. 8 March 1985, Bratislava) — Slovak artist, glassmaker and designer.
In my work I focus on original artworks and one-of-a-kind interior pieces made of glass, often combined with precious metals such as gold, platinum or bronze. My work also merges glass with other materials, mainly stone, wood and metal. My pieces are part of private and public collections and have been presented at exhibitions in Slovakia and abroad — for example in Paris, Rome, London, Zürich, Miami, China and Dubai. In Bratislava I run a gallery, showroom and atelier from which my works are distributed worldwide.
2004–2008 — studied design and woodwork at the Jozef Vydra School of Applied Arts. 2008–2013 — studied at the Academy of Fine Arts and Design in Bratislava under Prof. V. Oravec and later Prof. J. Hoffstädter, majoring in sculpture, object and installation, graduating with a Master's degree in Fine Arts.
I come from an artistic background. My mother is the painter Ingrid Zámečníková and my father Dimitrios Sdoukos is rooted in the Greek cultural tradition, which — together with antique and Byzantine art — is reflected in my own work.
I perceive glass as my main artistic medium, drawing on its optical properties, the way it works with light, and its depth of colour. The creation process involves technologically demanding work with glass at high temperatures, combining glass pigments and precious metals. My works are inspired by natural forms, water, organic structures and the symbolism of Greek mythology, while also reflecting contemporary architecture and modern technologies.

“Gaze into the glass for a while. Within it, you will discover everything, from the surface of a mirror to the depths of a swiftly flowing river. You will encounter the eyes of an unknown beauty, and her tears, and her streaming hair. Perhaps a fragment of a myth will reveal itself to you, the one that feels as though you have always known it.“
Glass holds an unexpected power to conjure emotions; it is perhaps the most natural “kindred” of light. Together, they create moments of surprise as though, in every instant, something new is being born within them.
These are the exquisite moments of design that never fade with time. Wander through antique shops, step inside quiet churches, pause before museum vitrines and you will discover that glass indeed does not grow old. Its design moves gracefully across centuries, carrying its beauty untouched, always ready to offer a new experience, a new reflection, a new sense of wonder.
Glass is a small, great miracle. Within it rests the unfathomable eternity of tiny grains of sand, melted into transparency — into strength and fragility, into resilience and grace all at once. A vessel of glass, even a seemingly solid sculpture, may chip along its surface, yet deep inside it remains untouched. Fragile panes appear to risk destruction, but only in illusion. Even when shattered, they endure — scattered into delicate shards that once again resemble grains of sand. And as we tend to believe broken glass brings good fortune. Perhaps that fortune lies in its eternal cycle — a glass bound promise that whenever something ends, in that very instant, something else quietly begins.

Achilleas performs as a guitarist in the rock bands Revoltage and Karpina. Beyond the stage, Achilleas immerses himself in the creation of music itself, shaping foundations, developing ideas and concepts, crafting atmosphere, and giving voice to expressive solo passages.
Among the collectors of his works are distinguished figures from the worlds of culture, sport, society, and business, individuals whose names carry resonance and whose lives are united by a shared appreciation for excellence. Achilleas works in close collaboration with music producer Henry Tóth. Together, they curate and design events where art, music, and meaningful networking merge into a single, living experience.
Glass and music, an unusual connection that truly captivated us. For Achilleas Sdoukos, an artist capable of shaping remarkable creations from glass, we prepared a presentation video. See how we captured his creation of art, a glass audio set where craftsmanship and sound come together in one distinctive piece.

Since 2020, Achilleas has been actively devoted to aviation, steadily advancing toward higher certifications and qualifications. “At first, it was the fulfilment of a childhood dream. Over time, aviation completely captivated me, it has become part of who I am. It is no longer just a hobby,” Achilleas has said.
“Flying teaches you to perceive space differently. From above, you begin to understand how unified the world truly is and how small are the things, that divide us.”
